I love cooking in my air fryer, but there can be odors that emanate from it while cooking. To get rid of the burning plastic smell of a new air fryer, you will fill a small bowl of vinegar and lemon juice, and set it inside the air fryer basket and turn the air fryer up to 400°F and cook it for 10 minutes.
There is also a wonderful DIY cleaner in this video that uses Dawn liquid, baking soda, and vinegar that will work really well to get into all of the nooks and crannies in the air fryer if you use a toothbrush to apply it.
These air fryer cleaning tips are all gold standard, but remember, the best way to keep your air fryer clean is to maintain it. That means, cleaning your air fryer after each use and soaking the basket in hot soapy water.
