In this video recipe, Kevin Lee Jacobs shows how quickly and easily this dish comes together with only ingredients that are already in your kitchen. You’ll surely add this to your kitchen staple once you try it, trust me. Watch it now below to learn the step by step procedure.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 of a medium-sized head of a cabbage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • a pinch of ground black pepper
  • 4 oz shredded Swiss cheese

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Remove the core of the cabbage, cut it lengthwise in half, then cut each half into strips. Transfer the chopped cabbage into a large mixing bowl and season with 1 tsp salt. Give it a toss, then massage the cabbage with your hands. After this, pour the cabbage into your casserole dish and set it aside. In the meantime, prepare the liquid mixture. Crack four large eggs in a mixing bowl, whisk, then add 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream, a pinch of ground black pepper, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, and 1 tsp baking powder. Continue to whisk until all is combined.

Step 2

Pour it over the cabbage, then stir. Once the cabbage is coated well, spread it nicely and evenly. Top the cabbage with 4 oz finely shredded Swiss cheese, then pop the casserole into the preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes or until the cheese fully melts. After baking, cool it for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Share and enjoy!
