Are you looking for an easy and fun quilt to do this weekend? I recommend this becky quilt block from Cut and Create on YouTube! You’ll surely have fun making this quilt as you can absolutely make it scrappy, colorful, or with bold prints. It’s one of my favorite quilt block patterns, especially if I have a cute layer cake bundle, as this pattern will look good no matter what color or pattern you use.

It’s also a great way to start your quilting project – as it’s not a complicated pattern, perfect for beginners. I remember making a bunch of quilts with this pattern when I was just starting out and giving them away to my loved ones.

And if you’re a seasoned quilter, I’m super sure you’ll still have a good time making this quilt. What are you waiting for? Try this quilt project today! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions. Thanks to Cut and Create for this fantastic quilting tutorial.

Materials:

fabric A (purple):

  • 1 – 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″
  • 1 – 2 1/2″ square

fabric B (green):

  • 1 – 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • 1 – 2 1/2″ square

fabric C (blue):

  • 1 – 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
  • 1 – 12 1/2″ x 4 1/2″

fabric D (orange):

  • 1 – 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
  • 1 – 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″

Directions:

Step 1

To start, grab your fabrics, cut them, and label them accordingly. Once you have all the pieces cut, go ahead and lay them down (refer to the image below for the placement of each piece) to create the block.

Step 2

Once done, start sewing each piece together with a 1/4″ seam allowance, then sew those units together to finish the block (press every time you finish sewing one unit). You can also pin the pieces you’ll sew together to make it easier. (You can absolutely use any color of fabric you like for this project.)
