Hack #1: Banana Peel Tea

This fertilizer uses nutrients from banana peels to give your plants a mineral boost. Simply fill a jar with water, then add in the banana peels, and let it sit for about 48 hours. Once they’re ready, remove the peel and leave the water in the jar, then mix the banana peel tea with 10 parts of water, and use this to water your plants.

Hack #2: Chopped Banana Peel

Chop the banana peels into about ¼ inch sized pieces, this will start the composting process and release some of the beneficial vitamins and minerals. Bury them anywhere from 4-inches down to just beneath the surface of the soil. As the peels decompose, all the valuable vitamins in the peels will reach the roots, giving your plants the nutrients they need.

Dry the banana peels and eggshells, then grind them together. Add the ground peels and shells to a spray bottle along with the Epsom salt, and fill the sprayer to the top. Spray on your plants as needed.

Hack #6: Insect Trap

Combine small pieces of the peels with the vinegar, and shake to mix and release the scent of the banana. Drill holes large enough to allow bugs to get through into your plastic container, pour your banana mixture into the container, then place it outside in your garden.
