Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies Recipe

Ingredients:

For the filling:

• 2 medium green apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
• 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
• 3 tbsp salted butter
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Hand Pies:

• 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
• 1 large beaten egg
• 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp milk, divided
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• olive oil

Directions:

Step 1

Add the diced apples, 3/4 cup light brown sugar, 3 tbsp salted butter, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and 1 tsp ground cinnamon in a pot over medium heat. Cook while stirring for ten to fifteen minutes. Next, whisk one large egg together with 1 tbsp milk. Set aside. After this, combine 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk, and 1 tsp ground cinnamon in another bowl. Mix well and set aside.

Step 2

Now, lay the pie crust and cut six equal pieces of circle. Then, add a full tablespoon of the apple mixture to each center. Once done, brush the inside of each pie crust with the eggwash, then fold over. Seal the sides by crimping the edges with a fork. After this, slit an X into the top center of each hand pie.

Step 3

Next, spray the basket of the air fryer with some cooking spray, then place the hand pies. Brush the top with some more eggwash, then cook them for five minutes. After five minutes, flip the pies and cook for another five minutes. Once done, glaze each hand pie with the glaze you made earlier.
