  • 1 – 3 1/2″ square (fabric B)
  • 1 – 2 3/4″ square (fabric C)
  • 2 – 2″ x 2 3/4″ rectangles (fabric D)
  • 1 – 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ rectangle (fabric E)
  • 1 – 1 3/4″ x 4″ rectangle (fabric F)

Baskets:

  • 1 – 4 1/2″ square (fabric G)
  • 2 – 2″ squares (fabric H)
  • 1 – 1″ x 4″ rectangle (fabric I)
  • 1 – 1″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle (fabric J)

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut all the fabric requirements and label them accordingly. Next, take one fabric J, and one fabric B. Line them right sides together, sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance, then press afterward. After this, add a fabric I to the block, sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance, and press. Next, sew a fabric F to the left of the block, press, then sew a fabric E to the top. From there, take one fabric G, draw a line on the wrong side from corner to corner, then put it on the bottom right of the square. Sew along the line from point to point. After this, take your block and cut a 1/4″ seam away from the stitch line. Press towards the basket fabric.

Step 2

Now, make the basket bases. Take two fabrics H, and draw on the wrong side from corner to corner. Lay each fabric H on one corner of fabric D, then sew them directly on the line and press towards the basket. Once done, make the basket side unit. Take one fabric A and stitch a basket base with a 1/4″ seam. After this, make the basket bottom unit. Take the remaining fabric A, fabric C, and then the bottom basket base. Sew them together with the base unit in the middle. Finally, assemble the block according to the free pattern and you’re done.
