Bed bugs are an unwelcome guest in any home, and once you get them they are very hard to get rid of. I found this video tutorial by Zapp Bug, on YouTube, describing how to rid your carpets of bed bugs by vacuuming using diatomaceous earth, pantyhose, and a vacuum cleaner. Diatomaceous earth is really good for pest control because it kills all insects by making ears in the exoskeletons. Insects breathe through their shells so when that shell is broken or torn, the most vital organ of the insect is destroyed. When an insect of any size crawls through diatomaceous earth, it will rip the exoskeleton and the insect will die. However, it is completely safe for pets and humans and is often used to deworm dogs.
