How To Recycle Plastic Bottles Into Hanging Flower Pots

Repurposing plastic bottles is a cool way to create something bigger and greater. There are countless upcycle crafts for those who want to protect the environment or have lots of big plastic bottles lying around. I love seeing garden crafts with plastic bottles because they’re so creative and unique. In this tutorial by DIY Garden Ideas, he shows how to reuse plastic bottles into hanging flower pots. It’s a beautiful way to create a garden without having to spend extra money. This can be in the backyard, front porch, or any small space around the house. Also, you can make a smaller plastic bottle garden if you don’t have that many bottles. I will add this to my list for future projects. DIY Garden Ideas makes this craft look easy and most materials in this project would be around my house.
Supplies:
- 5-liter plastic bottles (with bottle caps)
- scissors
- sharpie
- utility knife box cutter
- paint
- paintbrush
- scotch tape
- wood
- drill
- saw
- measuring tape
- rope
Directions:
First, outline a square opening on both sides of the bottle and carve it out. Paint the bottle half of the bottles so they look more decorative.
Next, drill your lids onto the long woodblocks. This will be a place holder for the bottles to hang on. Depending on how many sections you want this hanging pot garden to be, drill in holes on the ends of the woodblocks. Feed your rope through the hole and fasten a stopper knot to prevent the end from unraveling.
Overall, I think this project is spectacular. Also, I love how it looks and it’s so simple. Plus, there are no complex instructions and you can’t build this plastic bottle hanging garden in a couple of hours or so.
