Mountain Dew and brownies, but together. Who knew there could be such an amazing creation that mixes the best of two of the most awesome things on earth. I love drinking my Mountain Dew soda by itself, mind you, but once I made brownies with it, I am not sure I will ever be making any other dessert ever again. If it sounds a little strange to you, no worries. Honestly, I thought it might be a bit weird, too. However, once I saw that white chocolate and condensed milk were part of the deal, I knew it just might be worth trying. Turns out, these brownies are perfectly tangy, sweet, chewy and just downright delicious. Check out the video tutorial for the complete instructions on making, but we also have an ingredient list for you and some basic baking info.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
Plus this for Mountain Dew Syrup
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
First, make your Mountain Dew syrup. Add the sugar, corn syrup and Mountain dew in a saucepan and heat on medium for about 5 minutes. For best results, use a candy thermometer and heat to 230. Allow the syrup to cool. You will have extra after you make the brownies, which is great. You will be ready to make more!
To make the brownie batter, put your white chocolate and butter in a glass or microwave-safe dish and melt in the microwave. I did this in 30-second increments, stirring in between. Do not cook for several minutes or you risk burning the white chocolate. Once it’s melted and cooled slightly, add in your sweetened condensed milk, your salt, vanilla, egg, Mountain Dew syrup, and food coloring.
Once that’s thoroughly combined together, mix in your flour until thoroughly incorporated. Pour the batter in a greased 8″x8″ baking dish.
Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Leave as is or top with frosting once it’s cooled off. Then, it’s ready to serve!
