No, they are not real pinecones! Believe it or not, you can actually eat them. My family thought they were just decorations when I made them last weekend. They were surprisingly delicious. If you are searching for a new and unique Christmas treat this year, look no further than these yummy treats. I bet everyone would not think they are edible unless you tell them.

You only need three ingredients to make these chocolate pinecones–Oreos, cream cheese, and breakfast cereals. The powdered sugar is optional but adds a nice touch to these holiday treats. If you are planning to make them at home, follow Fitwaffle Kitchen‘s recipe below.

Add 20 Oreos to a food processor and process until they turn into fine crumbs. Alternatively, you can add them into a resealable bag and crush them using a rolling pin. Transfer into a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup of softened cream cheese into the crumbs and mix until well combined.
Scoop up about 1/5 of the mixture, roll it into a ball, then form an eggy shape. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
Get one of the shapes, then press the chocolate cereals into the Oreo eggs, starting from the bottom, all the way up. Make the first row all around the bottom of the egg shape. For the second row, place them between the cereals of the first row. Repeat the whole process until everything is fully covered. See the photo below for reference.
Place on a tray or plate. Repeat with the remaining egg shapes.
Refrigerate them for about 30 minutes.
Dust it with powdered sugar if preferred. Enjoy!
