I’ve always been a huge fan of mason jar projects and other crafts that involve repurposing old materials or giving them a whole new look. There are a lot of ideas and inspirations that you can find online, but this specific DIY by One Little Project on YouTube is one of my favorites to make.

What I love about this DIY project aside from the fact that it’s really beautiful and easy to make is that it’s multipurpose. You can use it as a planter both indoors and outdoors, or use it as a hanging lantern instead. I bet it would add a cozy vibe to your home or garden. Learn how now and make one for yourself or give it as a gift to a loved one!
Step 1
Cut the fishing line into 4 pieces at 5 feet long each, then gather them together lining up the ends, and fold them in half. Loop over and tie the fishing line to the wooden ring as shown in the video, then hold it down securely with painter’s tape, and insert one large bead into the strings.
Step 2
Divide the strand into 4 sections with 2 strings each, then insert beads to the 2 leftmost stands until about 16 inches long, and do the same to the other sections. Separate the strands into 8, then add beads to the leftmost strand until it reaches 3½ inches long, and repeat the same on strand 2.
Step 3
Continue adding beads to all 8 strands until 3½ inches long, then leaving the leftmost and rightmost strands, bring strands 2 and 3 together, then 4 and 5, and 6 and 7. Add beads onto strands 2 and 3 until 4 inches long, then do the same for the other strand bundles.
Step 4
Bring the unconnected strands towards the middle, then add beads to those 2 strands until 4 inches long, and gather the fishing line together. Tie all 8 strands in a secure knot, then cut the excess, place the jar with a candle or planter in the bead hanger, and hang it anywhere you want.
