Some people prefer to buy fresh corn compared to canned corn or frozen corn since it is cheaper. The problem when buying fresh corn is that you need to remove each one from the husk, which will take more time compared to opening a can or bag, and the silk often can be hard to remove. This trick is definitely a game-changer. Try it next time you have fresh corn at home.
Place the corn with the silk in your microwave. If you are cooking one ear, you have to microwave it for about 4 minutes. If you are going to cook two ears, microwave them for about 8 minutes.
Using a clean towel, remove the corn from the microwave. Be careful as it can be really hot. Place it on your chopping board. Let it cool for a few minutes.
Once the corn is cool enough to handle, cut the end with the stem just like in the photo below.
Hold the other end and squeeze the corn out just like in the photo below.
