One of my favorites on Wingstop’s menu is their cajun fried corn, and I would always order it whenever we go there, to be honest, I’d eat it every day if I could. However, there are days when I’m craving but I don’t want to go all the way to the restaurant to order them, so I decided why not just try to make them at home?

Fortunately, when I tried to dive into the internet to look for a great copycat recipe that I could follow, there were already a lot of video tutorials that I could choose from. The one that stood out to me the most is this one by Sugar Spice on YouTube because it’s very simple and easy to follow, plus, it tastes just as good as the original!

Ingredients for Wingstop Cajun Fried Corn:

  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • ½ tsp of paprika
  • ¼ tsp of cayenne powder
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • ¼ tsp of oregano

Step 1

In a small bowl, add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne powder, salt, oregano, ground pepper, and thyme, then mix everything until uniform and combined, and set them aside for later.

Step 2

Place a pot on a stove over medium heat, then add enough oil to deep fry the corn, and heat the oil to 350°F. Meanwhile, prepare the corn by chopping off both ends of each piece, and then cutting them into 4 equal pieces.

Step 3

Add the corn one at a time to the hot oil and deep fry them in batches to not overcrowd the pan, then cook them for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 4

Once cooked, place them on a place lined with paper towels to drain off the excess oil, then brush them with melted butter, and coat them with the seasoning mixture evenly. Serve and enjoy!
