This quilt block idea by Tulip Square on YouTube is very interesting and lovely, and I just knew immediately that I had to give it a try. This is an awesome and fun project that I’m sure even beginners in quilting will find easy to make.

You can use this quilt block to make a whole table topper or other quilted project ideas that you want. To learn the steps, proceed to read the instructions below and make sure to watch the video tutorial for more details.
Step 1
Download and print the pattern, then cut the fabrics according to the instructed measurements. Get the pieces for the saucer of the mug, then draw a diagonal line on the white 2-inch squares, and stitch them on each side of the dark strip making sure that one end of the line at meeting at the center. Cut off the excess at ¼ inch from the stitching line and then set it aside.
Step 2
For the handle, sew a white strip on each side of the print fabric, then press the seams toward the darker fabric, and sub-cut them into 4 pieces. Take the small strips, then sew them in pairs, and stitch them to the previous set you’ve sub-cut. Sew a white strip to the top edge of the mug handle, then sew a bigger white piece to the bottom, and press them nicely.
Step 3
Get the saucer piece and sew the contrasting strip at the bottom edge, then sew the large square or cup piece to the mug handle, and sew a white piece to the opposite side. Piece the mug and saucer together, then give the block a good press, and you’re done.
