Easy English Garden Quilt Materials

  • 1 pack of 10″ print squares
  • 1 pack of 10″ background squares
  • 1 3/4 yards of coordinating solid (includes inner border)
  • 1 1/2 yards of outer border
  • 3/4 yard of binding
  • 6 yards of backing
  • clearly perfect slotted trimmer A

How to Make English Garden Quilt

Step 1:

Take one background square and one print square. Place them right sides together. Sew a 1/4″ seam allowance all the way around the block.

Step 2:

Cut it in half diagonally from corner to corner on both directions.

Step 3:

Square each one onto a 6 1/2″ square. Press them flat.

Step 4:

Using your coordinating solid, cut 2 1/2″ squares. Fold them in half diagonally.

Step 5:

Place two 2 1/2″ squares on two corners on the half-square triangles with the folded line across the seams. Sew right on the lines. Trim the excess. Press it flat. Repeat with the remaining half square triangles.

Step 6:

Arrange four of the blocks just like a four patch. See the photo below for reference. Press it flat.

Step 7:

Make 6 rows with 5 blocks each. When you arrange them, make sure the pinwheel goes all in the same direction.
