#1: Washing Shoe in the Machine
When you wash shoes in the machine, they tend to move around so much that it causes a loud banging sound. To avoid this, you could try tying together the shoelaces, then hang the end outside the machine’s door before closing it, or you can also put them inside a laundry bag instead before hanging the ends of the bag in the door.
#2: Removing Grease Stains
If your clothes have some grease stains, then make sure to tackle them first before putting them in the machine. Grab a piece of chalk, then rub it on the stain, and let the chalk draw out the oil from the fabric for a couple of hours depending on the severity of the stain. After pretreating the stain, you can wash your laundry as usual.
#3: How to Prevent Color Fading or Bleeding
All you need is to add half a cup of salt to your wash cycle, then run it through as usual, and the salt will help lock in any new clothing colors. It’ll also help freshen up and revive older clothing that has fading colors.
#4: How to Whiten Whites
An inexpensive and quick way to whiten whites is to hang your laundry to dry in the sun, UV rays can do amazing things to whiten your garments.
#5: How to Soften Dry and Crackly Towels
Over time as your towels start to age, they get a little crispy and rough against your skin, and an easy way to fix it is to run them through 2 cycles. The first cycle should be with hot water along with 1 cup of white vinegar, then on the next load, run a hot water cycle with 1 cup of baking soda.
