Sauce
Step 1
In the crockpot, add the beef broth, light brown sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, rice wine or dry sherry, toasted sesame oil, chili sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, pepper, and onion powder, then whisk everything until well combined and the cornstarch has dissolved, and set it aside.
Step 2
Slice the beef strips and pat them dry, then season them with some salt, and add them to the crockpot. Cover the crockpot with the lid, then cook the beef on a low setting for about 3 to 4 hours until tender, then tilt the crockpot, and ladle the sauce into a saucepan setting it aside.
Step 3
Put the broccoli on top of the beef, then cover the pot again, and cook them for an additional 20 to 30 minutes. While waiting, bring the sauce in the saucepan to a simmer until desired consistency, then pour it back into the crockpot, and give them a good stir. Serve and enjoy!
