Beginner-Friendly Patchwork Block Materials

• 3 pieces of 2-inch wide fabric strips
• 4 pieces of 1 1/2-inch wide strips

How to Make a Patchwork Block

Step 1:

Lay the strips together, alternating the 2-inch strips and 1 1/2-inch strips to make a unit. Sew them together. Press it flat.

Step 2:

Cut the unit strip into 9 1/2″ squares. Rotate one square and place it on top of the other right sides together. Pin it in place and sew on all sides.

Step 3:

Cut the square in half diagonally in both directions. Press each half-square triangle open. Trim off excess if there are any.

Step 4:
