Take three strips (2 dark and 1 background) and sew them together with the background in the middle. Press to the dark side. Repeat with the other strips.
Take two strip sets and place them right sides together. Sew a 1/4″ seam allowance on the top and bottom.
Take a ruler that has a 45 angle. Place the line of the ruler right on the stitch line. Cut using a rotary cutter. Slide the ruler up, put the 45 line on the stitch line on top, and cut again. Repeat for the whole tube. Each should be an 8 1/2″ square.
Take 2 pieces of 2 1/2″ squares and draw diagonal lines from corner to corner on each one. Place on the strip side where the colors come together, then sew directly on the line. Repeat on the other side.
You need 7 rows with 6 blocks each.
