This recipe has the same ingredients as taco salad – the only difference is that the taco salad is deconstructed. You can add the classic toppings, but there are a ton of other toppings to choose from. You can add guacamole, black olives, grilled corn, or whatever you prefer. Customize it however you like! Lime crema:
Start by making the tortilla bowls. While waiting for them to bake and cool, make the taco salad.
Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Spoon out all of the excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Set aside and let it cool.
Make the dressing. In a small bowl, add all the ingredients for the dressing and mix until well combined. Place in the refrigerator.
Chop the lettuce and place into serving bowls or taco bowl. Divide the ground beef between each one.
Add the toppings, followed by the cilantro. Drizzle the homemade dressing then serve with lime wedges.
