Milk Pudding
Caramel
Step 1
Add the milk, sugar, and cornstarch in a large pot or saucepan, stir them well until dissolved, and heat it over low heat while stirring occasionally. Allow it to boil and thicken, add a few drops of vanilla extract, and continue to stir until combined.
Step 2
Once the mixture is thick, allow it to cook for 1 to 2 more minutes, then turn off the heat, and transfer the mixture to a baking dish or pan. Tap it a few times on a surface to flatten the top, then let it cool down, and transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3
In a small mixing bowl, mix the water or milk with cornstarch, then stir them until dissolved, and set it aside. Add the sugar to a pan, then heat it until caramelizes, and make sure to swirl it consistently.

Step 4
Add the cornstarch mixture a little at a time to the sugar, then stir continuously until incorporated, and keep on cooking the caramel until thickened. Once boiling, stir them well until smooth and there are no more lumps, then scrape the edges, and let it cool down for a bit.
Step 5
Turn off the heat, then pour the caramel over the chilled milk pudding, and spread it evenly. Put it in the refrigerator, then allow it to chill for at least 30 minutes, and serve. Enjoy!
