The first thing you need to do before trying any DIY solution is to make sure that the leak has been fixed. Once it’s cleared, you are ready to remove those water stains. But before you try this technique, you have to remember that this only works for white ceilings. If you have a colored ceiling, do not attempt to try this, as it will lighten the paint color. Also, this might no longer work if you already painted over a water spot. Lastly, be sure to wear gloves and a mask when applying the bleach, as you want to avoid skin contact and inhaling it.

Step 3:

Cover your floor and furniture with plastic to keep them from getting wet with the solution.

Step 4:

Spray a light layer of the solution to the stain and use a paper towel to dab it a little bit. Do not rub it or do anything that will damage the paint. If you have a popcorn ceiling, do not rub or dab your ceiling. Let it sit for about 4 minutes or until dry.
