As soon as the Fall season arrives, all I can think about is that it’s time for pumpkins, and it’s also the perfect time to prepare one of my favorite cake flavors of all time, pumpkin spice! It’s so good and addicting that it’s gone almost immediately after serving, and when I need a great fail-proof recipe that is also very easy to make, I always choose this one by Cooking with Shirani on YouTube.

Frosting
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add the cake mix and pumpkin puree, then gently fold them together until well combined, and pour the batter into a baking dish greased with nonstick cooking spray. Spread the cake batter evenly, then place it in a preheated oven at 350°F, and allow it to bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. Once done baking, set the cake aside, then allow it to cool down, and while waiting, prepare the frosting.

Step 2
In another large mixing bowl, add the butter and brown sugar, then beat them together until creamy and fluffy, and then add the cinnamon and vanilla extract. Continue to beat them until incorporated, then gradually add the powdered sugar, and keep beating over low speed until well combined. Scrape the sides, then add the milk, and beat until incorporated. Pour the frosting on top of the cooled cake, then spread it evenly, and slice it into squares. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge before serving. Enjoy!
