I loved ice cream ever since I was a kid, but I have never tried to make it at home. So last weekend, I made this homemade Oreo ice cream recipe by The Cooking Foodie. I couldn’t believe it only required 3 simple ingredients! It was so easy to make and didn’t even need an ice cream machine. As soon as it was ready, I got a few scoops and enjoyed it while watching tv – it was so good! This week I’m going to make 3 batches for my family. Cut 14 Oreos into small pieces, then place them in a food processor. Crush into large crumbs. Make sure not to overmix it, as you still want to have big chunks. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place them inside a ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin. Once done, set aside.
Add 2 cups of cold heavy cream to a large bowl and whip until stiff peaks using a hand mixer. You can also use your stand mixer.
Add one can or 14 oz of sweetened condensed milk to the whipped cream and beat on low speed until incorporated.
Add the crushed cookies to the condensed milk and whipped cream mixture and fold until well combined.
Transfer to a freezer container, then spread evenly using a spoon or spatula. Top your ice cream with three to four extra crushed cookies. Cover it with a cling wrap and place in the freezer. Freeze the ice cream for at least 6 hours to get the right consistency.
Scoop your ice cream and serve in a bowl. Enjoy!
