Cut 9 inch squares from your contrasting leg fabric and background fabric into 9 inch squares. Get four squares for each fabric. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the background squares. Lay them on the colored squares right sides together. Sew 1/4″ away from both sides of the line. Cut directly on the drawn line and press them open.
Arrange the half squares triangles in pairs so the whites are in the middle just like in the photo below. Sew them together with 1/4″ seam allowance to make four sets.
Place the four patch in the middle and put the legs on the sides. Cut four pieces of 8 1/2″ background squares and place them on the corners of the stars. Sew them in rows first. Once done, sew the rows together. Lastly, add 5 1/2″ border to your star. Quilt, bind it and enjoy sewing.
