If you love Rolo chocolates and just can’t have enough of them, then you’ll surely be delighted by this recipe by Delish on YouTube because it is your favorite candy but in a larger cake version. This cake is surprisingly easy and convenient to make as it uses a boxed cake mix and a jar of ready-made caramel sauce, and if you have some leftover chocolate chips from previous baking, then you’re set to make this delicious treat!
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then line four 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper, and grease them with nonstick cooking spray before setting them aside. Prepare the cake according to the package instructions, then pour and divide the batter into the prepared cake pans evenly, and bake them in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. Once done baking, allow them to cool down for about 10 minutes before unmolding them on a wire cooling rack upside down, and then let them cool down completely.

Step 2
Cut out the center of the cake layers with a 4-inch cookie cutter, then place all of the cake layers in the refrigerator, and freeze them for at least 1 hour. In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips, then pour the heavy cream into a small saucepan, and place it on a stove over medium heat. Once the heavy cream starts to bubble around the edges of the pan, turn off the heat, then pour it into the bowl of chocolate chips, and whisk them continuously until smooth and incorporated.
Step 3
Lay the whole cake layer on a serving plate or cake board, then spread some of the prepared ganache all over it, and place a cake layer with a hole on top lining them up evenly. Repeat the steps adding another cake layer with a hole, then pour the caramel into the hole, and place the last whole layer of cake at the very top. Carve the sides of the cake into the shape of a Rolo chocolate, then cover the cake with the remaining ganache, and some of the leftovers around the center as shown in the video. Place it in the refrigerator, then let it chill for at least 15 minutes or until set, and serve. Enjoy!
