Plastic Bottle Flower Baskets

One of the things that I love to do whenever I have free time on a weekend is to recycle and repurpose items at home. I don’t like to throw them away, so I turn them into something new. If I can’t think of any idea – that’s when I dispose of them. One of my favorites is this project by Suking DiY Ideas. You can transform plastic bottles into flower baskets with this tutorial! Paint them in different colors for variation, then plant your favorite flowers. I am sure these will make your garden alive and bright. Watch the video below for full instructions.

Materials:

• plastic bottle
• glue gun
• cutter
• marker
• sharp scissors
• spray paint

Instructions:

Step 1:

Get the plastic bottle and remove the label. Draw marks around the bottle just as shown in the photo below. Cut the top part. Once done, cut strips from the top to the line using sharp scissors. Do it all the way around. Make sure that each one has the same size. Remove the marks with a cloth.

Step 2:

Take the top part of the bottle, then cut the small ring using a blade.

Step 3:

Bend each strip toward the bottom of the bottle and glue them in place. Once done, it should look like a flower.

Step 4:

Cut the ring and glue it around the ends of the strips. This will secure them in place.

Step 5:

From another bottle, cut another small strip and glue it on opposite sides on the inside of the flower basket for the handle.

Step 6:

Create holes at the bottom of the flower basket. You can use a screw. Just heat the tip and poke it into the bottle.

Step 7:

Place it outside or on top of newspapers and spray paint it with your preferred color. Once done, let it dry completely.

Step 8:

Put your soil into the basket and plant your flower.
