Cake batter
Buttered rum sauce
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and baking powder, then whisk them together until well combined, and set it aside. Next, in the bowl of a stand mixer, add the butter, oil, and sugar, then beat them together over medium speed for about 5 minutes or until light and fluffy, and then add the eggs one at a time while beating continuously until combined. Add the vanilla, then beat them together just until combined, change your speed set to low, and incorporate the flour mixture with the rum and buttermilk alternately until well combined. Grease the bundt pan with nonstick spray, dust with some flour, then pour the batter into the pan, and gently tap on the counter a few times.

Step 2
Put the cake inside the preheated oven, then let it bake at 325°F for about 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, and then let it cool for about 15 minutes before unmolding the cake inverted into a cooling rack to cool completely. While waiting for the cake to cool, prepare the glaze. Place a small saucepan on a stove over medium heat, then add the butter and let it melt, and then add the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, rum, heavy whipping cream, angostura bitters, and salt. Stir them all together until uniform and fully combined, then bring it to a boil while stirring occasionally for about 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a bowl or measuring cup, then let it cool to room temperature stirring occasionally, and glaze half of it all over the cake. Serve the cake together with the remaining sauce and enjoy!
