This DIY tin foil tree painting by Jay Lee Painting is so cool! Tree’s can be tricky to paint, especially when you’re trying to make them look more realistic. This tutorial will show you exactly how to do that using only tin foil and paint. There are some other materials included to help with details, but they are not required.

Materials Needed For This DIY:

  • Tin Foil
  • Brown Paint
  • Green Paint
  • Plastic Knife
  • Paint Brush

Directions:

Step One

Start by crumbling up a large piece of tin foil.

Step Two

Pour your brown paint onto a pallet or a plate. Dip your plastic knife into the brown paint and drag it on the canvas to begin creating the tree trunk. Drag the knife in an upward motion starting at the base of the canvas with brown paint to start. Then using the side of the knife, create the branches.

Step Three

Pour your green paints onto a pallet or a plate Dip the tin foil into your green paint and begin lightly pressing the foil to your canvas to create the leaves on the tree. You can alternate shades of green as well to create depth in your painting. By starting with a darker green in the center and working out to a lighter green, you will create an illusion that the tree is larger and fuller.
