One of my sisters is going to celebrate her birthday and we decided that each family member will prepare food for the celebration. We can cook or bake any recipe. I chose cupcakes as they are one of her favorite snacks. The problem is I don’t know how to bake and make the frosting. Luckily, I found this 3-ingredient vanilla frosting recipe by Sweet & Spicy on Youtube. This is a big help as it’s super easy to follow – it’s perfect for beginners like me! I already tried it and it turned out really good. Read on or watch the video below for full instructions.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of salted butter and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 can (14 oz) of condensed milk (cold)

Note: if you are going to use unsalted butter, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt. You can also add any essence or color to the frosting.

Instructions:

Step 1:

Add half a cup of salted butter and another half cup of unsalted butter into a bowl and whisk until well combined. Make sure to use room-temperature butter. Scrape the side to bring all the butter in the center. Whisk the butter again at medium-high speed until it becomes light and fluffy.

Step 2:

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence and 1 can of condensed milk to the butter. Make sure that the milk is cold. Whisk them together at high speed for about two minutes. If the frosting separates just put it in the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes. Bring all the frosting in the center. It should hold its own shape.

Place the nozzle on a piping bag and cut the tip. Place it on a glass and put some of the frostings on the bag. Decorate cakes and cupcakes with the frosting.
