If you love potatoes, you’ll surely enjoy these bite-sized treats. This 3-ingredient potato balls by Quick Simple & Delicious comes with this delicious homemade garlic cheese sauce recipe. For the potato balls:
For the garlic cheese sauce:
Peel the potatoes and soak them in water. Wash them well to remove the starch. Shred the potatoes using a peeler and place them in a bowl. Pour water and wash them well. Once done, drain and squeeze as much water as you can.
Season the potatoes with salt and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of cornstarch. Mix everything well until the cornstarch is well incorporated. Set it aside for about 15 minutes.
Make the sauce. In a saucepan, melt 3 and 1/2 tablespoons of butter. Add the grated garlic and saute on low heat for about 1 minute. Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and mix everything well.
Let it come to a boil, then add 3/4 cup of milk. Stir over low heat until thickened. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika. Gradually add 1/4 cup of water. Mix until well combined, then add the grated cheese. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes until it’s smooth.
After 15 minutes, form the potatoes into balls using your hands. Place them on a plate.
Pour a generous amount of vegetable oil into a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the potato balls and fry them until golden brown on all sides. Strain the excess oil then place it on a plate lined with a paper towel.
Serve while freshly cooked with homemade sauce. Enjoy!
