Block 1

Cut two strips, 2 & 1/2″ x 19″. Sew using a 1/4″ seam allowance, then cut four squares, 4 & 1/2″ x 4 & 1/2″. After this, lay these four blocks in any way you want. The finished block would measure 8″.

Block 2

Cut two squares in different prints, 5″ x 5″. Place the squares’ right sides together and pin. After this, sew around the square using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Cut the square from corner to corner, both diagonally, then trim the corners. Then, trim half square triangles to 3″ x 3″. Lay them in pinwheel form, then sew accordingly. The finished size of the block would be 5″.

Block 3

Cut four white squares, 2 & 1/2″ x 2 & 1/2″, four print squares, 2 & 1/2″ x 2 & 1/2″, and one red square, 2 & 1/2″ x 2 & 1/2″. Lay them out alternately; first row – white, print, white, second row – print, red, print, and the third row – white, print, white. After this, sew the blocks in rows, then sew the rows together. The finished block would be 6″.
