With the price increase of different products yearly, we have to find ways to save and lower the cost of our expenses. One of the products or items we consume every week aside from food is laundry detergent and it can be expensive. If you have kids at home, you probably know how costly to wash all of their dirty clothes. Of course, you don’t want them to wear clothes full of dirt and stains. The same goes if you have a dirty job or if you sweat too much doing your work. Laundry soap is one of the products that you should always have. So I searched the internet to look for ways to save money from buying them and I found this amazing homemade DIY detergent by One Good Thing by Jillee on Youtube. Now, you can make a year’s worth of laundry soap for $30. Yes, this can last for a year if you are a family of four. Read on for the full instructions.

Materials:

  • 3 bars of Bell’s Naptha laundry bar and stain remover
  • 1 box of borax
  • 1 box of washing soda
  • 2 cups of baking soda
  • 3 containers of oxygen bleach
  • 2 bottles of fabric softener crystals (optional)
  • 2 kitchen trash bags
  • blender
  • large container

Instructions:

Step 1:

Cut 3 bars of Nell’s Naptha laundry bar into pieces and put them inside a blender. Add 1 cup of oxygen bleach and grind them until fine.

Step 2:

Put the dry mixture into a doubled trash bag. Next, add 1 box of washing soda, 1 box of borax, 2 cups of baking soda, the remaining oxygen bleach, and 2 bottles of fabric softener crystals.

Step 3:

Tie both of the kitchen bags. Tumble it, so all of the ingredients are well combined.

Step 4:

Snip one corner and transfer the homemade laundry detergent into your large container.
