#1: Cut Papers

You can tear or cut papers without scissors using only a ruler and safety pin. Position the ruler on the paper, then use the sharp point of the safety pin to score the paper and then pull it apart.

#2: Keep Papers Together

If you don’t have a stapler or paper clip to hold your papers securely together, then just grab a safety pin, and pierce it through all of the papers.

#3: Compass

Hold the safety pin down on the paper, then insert a pen or sharp tool at the center of the head, and insert another pen on the hole of the pin’s end. Draw a perfect circle as you would with a normal compass.

#4: Fix Flip-Flops

If the lock of your flip-flops’ toe post is gone, you can replace it with a safety pin, simply insert the cut toe post back into place, then pierce through the safety pin, and you’re done!

#5: Keychain

When you don’t have a keychain yet for some reason and you need all your keys secured together, then use a safety pin instead, and hang them where you would spot them easily.

#6: Insert Lace Through Clothes

If you need to insert your jacket hood’s lace back into place, then fasten a safety pin on the end of the lace, and simply glide it through the hole until the lace is in the proper place.

#7: Replace a Broken Zipper

If the pull tab of your zipper is broken, then replace it with a safety pin by simply inserting it through the slider, and zip it as you usually would.

#8: Open the Phone’s SIM Card Tray

If you lost your SIM card tray pin and can’t find a similar one, then a safety pin might just work. You can also use a fabric pin if you don’t have a safety pin.
