What do you do with the pants you no longer wear? Do you just give them away or throw them in the trash? Here’s a great idea by Ae PooiM on Youtube – it’s upcycling old pants into a bag! There are tons of designs you can choose from and this is just one of them. Isn’t this cute and creative? You can put a lot of things inside, and it has pockets too! Don’t worry, it’s very easy to sew – even beginners can make this. Read on or watch the video below for full instructions. Happy sewing.

Instructions:
Step 1:
Cut the pants just below the crotch area. After that, cut the crotch part.
Step 2:
Flip it wrong side out.
Step 3:
Draw a 2″ by 2 3/8″ rectangle on the bottom left and right, then cut them. Stitch the bottom edge with a 3/8′ seam allowance. Next, sew the bottom edges to the top of the rectangles to make box corners.
Step 4:
Flip it right side out. Cut two rectangles measuring 7 7/8″ by 4 3/4″ each. Get one of the rectangles and curve the top corners. Place it on top of the other rectangle, then sew all the way around except with a 3/8″ seam allowance but leave an opening. Cut the corners of the bottom one, following the curve. Flip it right side out. Top stitch all the way around.
Step 5:
Glue the straight edge of the sewn canvas on the top of the pants. Add the plastic snap buttons.
Step 6:
Cut two 19 3/4″ long webbing straps.
Step 7:
Flip the bag wrong side out. Box stitch the ends of the webbing straps beside the flap for the handle. Do the same to the other side.
Step 8:
Flip it right side out, and it’s done!
