Separate the spoon from the handles. Cut them using a hand held hack saw.
Smooth the rough edges of the spoon using a sand paper.
After you have cut and sanded all of the spoon heads, the next thing we’re going to do is spray them with paint (2 coats on the front and 1 coat at the back).
Get your foam core board and trace a circle 18 inches in diameter. You can use a compass to trace the circle or you can use a pin, string and pencil to help you draw a big circle.
Shorten the string or adjust your compass to create a smaller circle that would serve as a guide when gluing your spoons.
Measure the diameter of the mirror that you are going to use and trace the board using a compass for about a quarter of an inch smaller compared to your mirror’s diameter.
Cut the center of the board using the trace that you made for the mirror. Do this by starting to cut from the edge of the line going to the center creating a pie-shaped cut. This would help us to cut easier later on.
After cutting the center of the board, get your masking tape and start taping the outer edge of the board to prevent it from bumps and from peeling.
Next thing we are going to do is to spray paint on the board and let it dry.
Lay your board and start putting your spoons upside down around the edge 3/8 of an inch apart. This will help as a guide when we start to flip and glue them one by one.
Next step is to glue the second layer of spoons. This will be much simpler- all we need to do is just stagger and glue them in place. Make sure to glue it high enough up to cover the outer edges of the board.
Just continue to stagger your spoons all the way down to the middle of the board to the last layer. Make sure to make a little bit of overhang to also cover the edges of the middle hole.
Flip the board over and place the mirror at the center. Now after your mirror is in a position that you want, start gluing it in place.
Lastly, attach the hangers using your glue gun.
and your gorgeous DIY Blooming Flower Mirror Frame is done!
