All of us probably have that old pair of jeans that no longer fits in the back of our closet. Don’t throw it away! Turn it into a bag instead with the help of Jejjsi Craft‘s tutorial. For this project, you can use your denim shorts or denim jeans. You will have more extra fabric when you use jeans, but you can use them for other projects. Here are some ideas for your leftover denim fabrics: Flower Bouquet, Apron, and Circle Tray.

Turning your old pair of jeans into a bag is not as hard as you think. It’s actually easy and fun! You can fit a lot of things inside and in the outside pockets. It is definitely a fashion statement. I am sure you’ll enjoy making this quick and easy sewing project at home.
Start by cutting the shorts or jeans in the center. Follow the seam line when cutting.
Lay it flat, then cut the ends to make them straight. Cut the bottom edges of the shorts as well. If you are using jeans, cut it just below the crotch point.
Measure the denim fabric and cut the lining fabric with that measurement.
Fold it back to its original form, then cut squares on the bottom corners. See the photo below for reference.
Do the same for the lining fabric.
Sew in the middle and the bottom edge. Next, sew the opened corners together close, and make box corners. Flip it right side out.
Do the same for the lining fabric, but make sure to leave an opening.
Place the jeans inside the lining right sides together, then sew on the top edges. Flip it right side out through the opening, then sew it to close.
Get the bottom edges from earlier and cut to the measurement of your handles. If you are using a pair of jeans, you can make handles using rectangular fabric pieces.
Sew the handles on both sides on the top and you are done!
