This quilt design will definitely fool everyone. It looks like you need to put much effort and time into making this quilt, but in reality, it is super easy to sew. When I first saw this, I immediately fell in love with the colors and pattern, but I expected it to be harder than the usual quilts I already made. I was so surprised when I learned how easy the steps were.

If you are looking for a new quilt project, definitely go for this three dudes quilt by Man Sewing. In this tutorial, she is joined by our all-time favorite Jenny Doan from the Missouri Star. The trick to making it look like the one in the photo above is to preselect your strips. Use the light colors for the center blocks and the dark colors for the corner blocks to create the same effect.

Most jelly rolls have two or three of the same colors. Get 2 of the same colors (light colors) from the jelly rolls and set the other aside for the border.
Get 5 pieces of 2 1/2″ strips and 4 pieces of 1″ strips. Arrange them just like in the photo below. Sew them all together with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press it flat.
Measure the strip unit. Cut the unit with that measurement to make squares.
Take 2 squares and place them right sides together with the one on top rotated. Sew all the way around the outside edge. Cut diagonally from corner to corner on both directions. Press them open.
Repeat for the others.
Arrange the squares just like in the photo below.
