Are you looking for your next quilting project? Try making this coin quilt from Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting on Youtube. I’m telling you, it’s the easiest quilt you’ll ever make. You only need a jelly roll for this project, and it’s the perfect quilt if you’re just beginning in quilting. Super simple and fun to make, you’ll absolutely love this quilt! Watch the video tutorial below for the step-by-step instructions.

Materials:

  • jelly roll
  • rotary cutter
  • ruler
  • cutting mat
  • iron for pressing
  • 2 & 1/2 yard fabric for sashing

Directions:

Step 1

First, cut your jelly rolls in half, then sew one strip to another. (Make sure the strips you’re sewing together have contrasting colors.) After sewing, press the seams toward the darker fabric. You can also work in groups of four strips if you want to make the process faster. (When pressing the top, be very careful as you’re working with longer strip sets of fabric.)

Step 2

After pressing the strip set, you’re now going to sub-cut it. Get your ruler and rotary cutter and cut the strip set into an 8 & 1/2″ block. Repeat this process with the rest of your strip sets. After you have your blocks, lay them in a long coin row, making sure each end strip is in a contrasting color to the next. After this, you can now add your sashing. (Make sure you’re sewing those long seams on a quarter inch.)
