Supplies for the Paper Ranunculus

Supplies for paper ranunculus

Supplies You Need For This Project

✨ Most people grab these three items

Crepe Paper

People often ask what kind of paper we used for our DIY ranunculus. We actually used crepe paper! It comes in a wide variety of colors, perfect for making paper flowers.

Glue Sticks

When using crepe paper to make paper flowers, hot glue is the best choice as it dries much faster than regular PVA glue.

Aluminum foil

Aluminum foil makes the best base for these paper ranunculus as it can easily be formed into a ball without glue.

These products are all listed on our DIY JOY Amazon store, so you can order and know exactly what you will get, and when. We do earn a small commission on these links and very much appreciate your support ❤️

Quick Steps

  1. Create the Base: Form a small piece of aluminum foil into a ball. Cut a small circle of green crepe paper and glue it to the top.
  2. Attach the Stem: Insert your floral wire into the bottom of the foil ball and secure it with hot glue.
  3. Prep the Petals: Cut your colored crepe paper into four progressively larger petal sizes.
  4. Start the Center: Using your smallest petals first, glue four pieces tightly around the green center. Continue gluing the rest of the smallest petals, placing them slightly lower each time to create layers.
  5. Build the Flower: Repeat this exact layering process with your second and third sets of petals, working your way down the base.
  6. Finish the Base: For your fourth and largest set of petals, set aside 5 or 6 pieces. Glue the rest around the flower just like before, and then use your reserved petals to neatly cover the underside of the flower.
  7. Wrap the Stem: Cover the exposed floral wire stem with green crepe paper to finish your ranunculus.
