This strawberry angel food dessert recipe by Vintage Recipe Tin on YouTube can be a no-bake recipe if you choose to buy a store-bought one. Also, it’s easy to use a boxed cake mix too. I can’t wait for strawberry season to make these, but you can still make them year-round. This dessert looks so fresh and light. Strawberry is one of my favorite fruit flavors and it’s perfect to bring to a potluck or family gathering. It’s super simple to make with easy ingredients, and it’s a vibrant dessert.
First, bake and cool the angel cake using a boxed cake mix or buy the prepared one. Cut the angel food cake into 1-inch cubes. In a large bowl, add the sliced strawberries sugar, strawberry jello, and water. Stir until the jello dissolved and cool in the fridge until the consistency is no longer warm or syrupy. Next, add half of the cubed angel food cake to the bottom of the baking dish. Then, pour and spread over half of the jello mixture, and add the remaining angel food cake and jello mixture. Chill for 3 hours or overnight.
Note: add sliced strawberries on top for an extra fresh strawberry flavor, but the strawberry jello and mixture add a lot of flavors. Although I’m not a big angel food cake person, all of the other ingredients add a nice texture. I’ve always thought angel cake was dry and bland.
