You won’t have any trouble finishing this quilt as it is just made from strips. The block is similar to a log cabin block. The only difference is the sizes of the strips. Unlike the log cabin block, it uses strips with different thicknesses.

To make the block, you have to sew the strips together, alternating the color and background strips. The only hard part is making sure that you put the right strips in the correct arrangement. Remember to put two white strips followed by two colored strips. Give this a try if you want an easy quilt project that you can finish quickly.
Take each strip and you are going to do all the same cuts for each one. Open them up and stack. Cut the selvedged edge and cut a 2 1/2″ square, 3 1/2″ rectangle, 5 1/2″ rectangle, 6 1/2″ rectangle, and 8 1/2″ rectangle. Save the leftover for another project.
Cut the background fabric into 1 1/2″ strips, then cut with the same lengths as the 2 1/2″ strips.
Take the 2 1/2″ background strip and place on the side of the 2 1/2″ print square. Sew them together. Finger press. Next, get the 3 1/2″ background strip and sew on the side.
Sew the 3 1/2″ print rectangle on the color side, then the 5 1/2″ print rectangle on the bottom. Repeat the same process for the remaining strips. Remember you always going to sew two whites then two colors. See the reference below.
Arrange them in pairs with the colors come together.
