Designer bags are so expensive and impractical for a lot of people, even if they look beautiful and nice. Luckily, Think subtly / DIY from Youtube shares this amazing macrame tote bag tutorial that looks like a legit Prada bag! Who would have thought that you only need ropes to make this trendy tote bag? Learn this amazing macrame weaving technique by watching the tutorial below.
Lay down the ropes parallel to each other. Beginning in the middle, wrap each rope around to its left and tie a macrame knot forming a node. Tighten each node. Passing the first row, connect two ropes between each other on the bottom. Make sure that the space between each node is 3 centimeters. It’s also very important that the nodes look uniform and the rows are always parallel to each other. Next, weave on the top starting from the right rope this time. Glue gun each node so that it will stay in place while you weave. Place a book in the middle part under the ropes, then wrap the ropes around; making the weaved part the bottom of the bag. Connect the free edges of the bag by tying them; making nodes on each side. Continue to weave the bag up top, making roughly 8 rows of the nodes.

Fix each knot using a glue gun. Find the middle of the bag by counting 4 rows from the bottom. (Making sure that the bag has 8 rows.) Next, divide the excess ropes on top to make the handles. After this, attach a 42 cm bag strap (store-bought or any cord that you like). Tape each end so the cord won’t open. Back to the bag, measure 14 1/2 cm from the nodes on top, mark it, then cut the excess ropes. Attach the ropes around the handle using a glue gun. Tighten the rope and the handle by wrapping a cotton thread around it. Do the same process to the other handle. To make the inner case, get a black fabric in a double-fold rectangle that measures 33 cm in length and 36 cm wide. Make some allowance, then sew the side seams in the sewing machine. Cut the excess fabrics on the edges. Turn it inside out. Mark a 2 cm and stitch a circle. Put a drawstring on the circle, then knot each end to lock it. Finally, place the inner case inside the bag and tie both sides of the inner case to the bag so that it will not move.
