Ingredients:

  • 12 eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 lb sausage, cooked
  • 4 cups sourdough bread, broken into pieces
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dry mustard

Directions:

Step 1

Crack 12 eggs in a mixing bowl and break the sourdough bread into pieces. Set them aside. Next, heat a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat, and cook the sausage until brown (about 15 minutes). Drain the excess fat and set it aside. Now, whip the eggs, add 4 cups of milk, then season with 1 1/2 tsp salt and 2 tsp dry mustard. After this, fold in 2 cups of shredded cheese, the sourdough bread, and the cooked sausage.

Step 2

Next, grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray, then transfer the mixture onto it, spreading it evenly. Cover it and store it in the fridge overnight. Once ready to cook, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and bake it for an hour or until it’s firm. After baking, let it sit for five minutes before cutting it into pieces.
