Baked beans are a must-have whenever fall is approaching – and the weather starts to get colder. One of my go-to recipes is this meaty BBQ baked beans from OLD SCHOOL SOUL FOOD on YouTube. I’ve tasted a lot of baked beans, but this one is top of my list; it’s just too good. It’s packed with lots of flavors that you’ll surely get hooked on once you taste it. What are you waiting for? Try this today and see for yourself. Watch the video below to learn how to make this.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Next, prep and chop all the ingredients and set them aside. Now, saute the chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, and diced bacon in a large saucepan until caramelized and the bacon is cooked through. After this, add the sliced smoked sausage, three cans of pinto beans, 1/4 cup yellow mustard, 1/4 cup light brown sugar, 1/3 cup liquid smoked sauce, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1 cup of thick BBQ sauce, and 1/2 cup ketchup. Mix everything well and season with some salt and ground black pepper.

Once done, transfer the bean mixture to your casserole dish and spread it evenly. Lastly, top everything with a layer of slices of bacon. Put the casserole in the preheated 325 degrees F oven uncovered and bake for 45 minutes to one hour. After baking, let it sit for five minutes, then mix everything well. Serve and enjoy!
