Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Add 1/2 cup butter to your stand mixer and beat until softened, then add 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp cloves, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1 grated nutmeg. Continue mixing until combined. After this, combine 1 cup of apple sauce and 1 tsp baking soda in a mixing bowl. Pour it onto the stand mixer gradually as well as the flour to build the cake batter.
Once done, remove it from the stand mixer and stir in 1 cup of raisins. Transfer the batter to a greased and parchment paper-lined baking pan. Spread the batter nicely and evenly. Place the baking pan into the preheated 350 degrees F oven and bake. Once done baking, remove it from the oven, slice it into pieces, and serve. Share and enjoy!
