Plush octopus flip toys are all the rave these days. They have gone viral on TikTok and can be found in just about any store. But, like anything that goes viral, the price has gone up, so they aren’t the cheapest to buy. Lucky for you, Isa’s World has created an amazing YouTube video tutorial to follow so you can make your own. These cute octopuses are great for gifts and completely customizable.

Materials Needed For This Project:

  • Super Soft Microfiber Fabric
  • Pattens (downloadable from Isa’s World’s video down below)
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Scissors

Directions:

Step One

Start by cutting to your paper templates. These can be found in the description box of Isa’s World’s YouTube video down below. You will need of each color of the flower-shaped template, then four of each color of the more triangle-shaped.

Step Two

Cut the fabric of each side of the octopus, then with a market, trace the edges in about 1/2 a centimeter and begin the sewing process. You will sew the ink flower piece to the blue flower piece. Once sewn together, you can cut out the middle circle of each.

Step Three

Sew the triangle pieces together. This will form the octopus body. Sew the outside edges of the four together to create a bowl shape. Repeat this with the other color as well.

Step Four

Flip the bowl shapes inside out and then attach them to the flower piece. Attach the correct colors to each other. When sewing the second bowl shape of fabric down, make sure you leave a hole open to flip it right side out and add the stuffing.

Step Five

Once the stuffing is added, flip it all to the side with the hole and sew the hole together.

Step Six

Finally, you can decorate each octopus. In the video, Isa decorates each side with different color felts, making one happy and one sad.
