This Nashville style air fryer hot chicken recipe by My Forking Life on YouTube is a great recipe to make without the extra oil and grease. I love spicy and Nashville hot chicken is popular everywhere. So, if you can’t make it to Nashville, learn how to make it at home with these simple instructions. I’m excited to make this at home because I’ve been looking for new air fryer recipes. Also, you can make these chicken tenders without the hot paste for those that cannot eat spicy.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp hot sauce
- 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for spraying Canola, Olive Oil, or any oil with a high smoke point
Hot Paste
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup peanut oil
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
Directions:
First, season the tenders with a little salt and pepper and set them aside. Then, create the dredging station by whisking the milk and hot sauce in one bowl. In a separate bowl, mix panko bread crumbs, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Preheat the air fryer at 375F. Dip the chicken tender in milk, and coat in bread crumbs. Continue to watch My Forking Life tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Next, toss the cooked chicken tenders into the hot oil paste and serve. Add pickles on top and place on a piece of bread or serve them with mac and cheese or corn slaw on the side.
Overall, Nashville hot chicken is one of my favorite foods because I love spicy chicken tenders. The hot oil spice mixed with the crispy chicken tenders is a perfect comforting combination.
