Isn’t this pattern adorable? I absolutely love this quilt design, especially the colors of the fabric that Jenny Doan used. The bright colors are perfect for spring, and the blocks somehow look like flowers, too. If you are a beginner and looking for an easy block to make, I suggest you try this Love Notes Star Quilt by Missouri Star. If you are wondering why it is called love notes it is because the blocks look like opened letters.

When you combine the blocks together, they form a star. If you made the You’ve Got Mail Quilt before, it is very similar to this one. They are both beginner-friendly and fun to make. To make the block, all you need to do is create half-square triangles. Once you have the HSTs, arrange them into a four-patch square, forming an open letter, and you have the block.

Take one print square and one solid square. Place them on top of each other, right sides together. Sew a 1/4″ around the edge. Cut it diagonally from corner to corner in both directions. Press them open. Repeat 3 more times.
Arrange the half square triangles just like in the photo below. Sew into a block. Repeat for the other half-square triangles.
Measure the block. Cut strips of that size. Place the strips in between each block. For the sashing row, sew corner stones in between each strip. Repeat the block and sashing rows to make the whole quilt.
