Instructions

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is to deconstruct all of your clothes. Once done, iron all of them.

Step 2:

Cut each of the fabric into long strips 1.4-inches wide. Make sure to keep the same fabrics together.

Step 3:

Connect the same strips together using a zigzag stitch to make long strips. Length depends on how big you want your rug to be.

Step 4:

Get one long strip, fold the sides toward the center, then fold it in half and iron. Sew the edge to close. Repeat with the other strips.

Step 5:

Make the threads for weaving. You can do it on your clothes hanger. Each thread consists of three threads. The distance between each one is 0.8 inches.

Step 7:

Sew the straps to each other on the sides, then tie the threads on the ends. Hide them inside the rug.

Step 8:

Get a 2.75-inch strip with an interlining and hand stitch on the ends of the rug. The strap of the interlining is about 1.97 inches wide. Cut excess and press it with an iron. It should be flat otherwise you can break your sewing machine. You can also hand stitch if you want.
